Abstract

As the world confronts environmental challenges, the construction industry plays a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future. Structural engineering, as a fundamental discipline, is at the heart of sustainable building practices. This review explores the integration of sustainability in structural engineering, focusing on eco-friendly design principles, sustainable materials, energy efficiency, and innovative technologies that contribute to environmentally responsible buildings. Emphasizing the importance of structural optimization and life-cycle assessment, this paper aims to highlight the role of structural engineers in minimizing environmental impact while maintaining safety, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
